A Missional Community is a group about the size of an extended family (20-60 people), united around a common mission to a particular neighbourhood, network of relationships, or social need.
Missional Communities provide a real opportunity for us to live out and discover our God-given calling, a place where we can be known, supported and challenged to go deeper in our relationship with each other, and to engage in mission, as we grow as disciples of Jesus.
Connect, the Missional Community based in Bussage
Leaders: Alisdair & Rosslyn Longwill (01453 883308/07837 364003, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org), Dave & Cheryl Shears (01453 731487, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org)
Vision: To help each other live as intentional missional disciples in our neighbourhood.
To seek opportunities to engage in the local community.
Activities: “ROC Bussage” is an opportunity to prayerfully explore how God might want us to respond to our neighbours and show and share God’s grace in Bussage and beyond. “Thrive”: we informally worship God and try to apply his word to our lives.
Leaders: Tom & Anna Herbert (07787 51249 or email@example.com), Scott & Michelle Coles (07804 976919/07854 379168 or firstname.lastname@example.org)
Vision: To help long-term relationships to flourish by sharing time and food with other
married couples .
Activities: If you’re in a long term marriage relationship or just got hitched, join us for a meal and feed your union—we meet on the first Sunday of the month. We’ve learnt marriage is a daily choice and, when it’s good, everyone benefits. By making time to have a conversation with a shared meal, we can encourage all our marriages to flourish, sharing what works.
Leader: Will Mansell (07725 874231 or email@example.com)
Vision: We want to see people reach their social, emotional, spiritual and economic potential by using the medium of business to develop, train and mentor people.
Activities: We provide training in the form of mentoring and formal qualifications. We launch, manage and grow small social enterprises to create employment for people to develop. We invest time in people to help model and demonstrate positive Jesus lifestyles whilst building confidence and self-esteem. We have a consultancy arm that provides support for smaller start up CICs. We also run a shared office space that we sublet to charities and social
enterprises at low cost. At the moment we gift over 1500sq ft of space to Stroud District Foodbank (www.strouddistrict.foodbank.org.uk) and Kids’ Stuff (www.strouddistrictfurniturebank.org.uk).
Specially 4 You

Vision: S4U seeks to make church relevant and accessible to adults whose needs are special: levels of understanding are no barrier to knowing Jesus. S4U is a community, founded on the love of Jesus and our love for one another.
Activities: Sharing news and food; simple interactive service with lots of music and stories, finishing off with a craft session which reflects the theme of the day. We also have the occasional lunch together with our special guests at a pub and we have a monthly catch-up over supper with the core group.
